Privacypolicy

• Your account: your name, email address and password. The password is stored only as a secure hash.
• Your player profile: your photo, position and level, and any optional details you add, such as your date of birth, gender and phone number.
• Your games: the games you join, request, leave, wait for or host; attendance (present, late or no-show); match events such as goals, assists and cards; the ratings and MVP awards that come from them; and the ratings you give hosts.
• Match videos: videos a host uploads or links to a game, and anyone who appears in them.
• Hosting applications: the phone number, emirate, pitches and experience you send us, and our decision.
• Safety: reports you make, reports about you, and the players you block.
• Location, only if you allow it: your device's location is sent with a search so games and pitches can be sorted by distance. We don't save it to your account or keep a history of it.
• Notifications, only if you allow them: the push token Apple gives your device, so we can send you game notifications.
• Messages to us: anything you send to support@golazo.ae.

Our servers also process technical information such as your IP address, to deliver the service and protect it against abuse (for example, limiting repeated sign-in attempts). This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies.

• To run your account and show you games, pitches and players.
• To manage spots, requests and waiting lists, and to send the notifications you've turned on.
• To work out ratings, MVPs and career stats from the match events a game's host records.
• To keep games reliable: three no-shows in 30 days pauses joining games for 14 days.
• To review host applications and reports, and to keep the community safe.
• To send account emails, such as password reset codes.
• To secure the service, prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations.

Other players can see your name, photo, position and level, your career stats (such as games played, rating and reliability) and the games you're playing in. Your email address, phone number, date of birth and gender are shown only to you. Ratings from a game are shown only to the players in it; anyone who can see the game sees its score, timeline and MVP. Hosts' ratings are shown on their profile. You can choose whether you appear in player search. A game's match video is public: anyone who can open the game can watch it.

We share personal data only with the service providers that help us run Golazo, under agreements that limit how they may use it: Hetzner (our servers and database, in the European Union), Cloudflare (storage and delivery of photos and videos, worldwide), Resend (account emails) and Apple's push notification service. Your data is therefore stored and processed outside the UAE, under safeguards the UAE's data protection law requires. When you tap a pitch's address, it opens in Apple Maps.

We never sell your personal data.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users and the public.

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account in the app (in Profile, under Account → Delete account), we take you out of any upcoming games, cancel the games you're hosting, delete your photos, notifications and device tokens, and anonymise your profile. Match results that other players rely on stay, but no longer identify you. Match videos are part of a game's record and are kept after the game, and after the host's account is closed; if you appear in one and want it taken down, email support@golazo.ae. We may keep records of reports and safety decisions for as long as they're needed to protect the community.

• Update your profile at any time in the app.
• Delete your account in the app, whenever you like.
• Turn location and notification access on or off in your iPhone's Settings.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing us.

Depending on where you live, including under the UAE's data protection law, you may have further rights, such as objecting to certain processing. Email support@golazo.ae and we'll respond as the law requires.

Golazo is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe someone under 18 has an account, email us and we'll remove it.

Data travels over encrypted connections, passwords are hashed, and access to personal data is limited to the people who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else.
